Gear Plants: Merge Defense
Your setup decides the battle. Merge Gears, summon Plants, and keep the zombies away from your base.
This is an independent overview of the game. We walk through the core loop, the Plant roster and the way difficulty builds — so you know what to expect before your first wave.
How it plays
Prepare. Merge. Defend.
Every round starts before the first zombie appears. You shape a formation of Gears, and that formation powers your defense.
Once the wave begins, Plants fight on their own. Your job is the thinking that comes first — and the small adjustments in between.
-
Arrange your Gears
Place Gears into a formation. Position matters, so try different layouts and see what holds up best.
-
Merge matching pairs
Combine identical Gears to raise their power. Numbered Gears speed up Plant production, so they are worth keeping close.
-
Summon Plants
Gear Plants bring fighters onto the battlefield. A stronger formation means a steadier stream of defenders.
-
Hold the line
Zombies leave their portals and walk toward your main base. Your Plants attack automatically. Survive the wave, then the next one.
The roster
Different Plants for different problems
No single Plant answers every wave. A good lineup mixes attack styles so each threat meets the right counter.
-
Single-target
Focused damage for tough individual enemies.
-
Multi-target
Spreads attacks across crowded groups.
-
Slow & control
Buys time by holding the advance back.
-
Lightning
Adds electric attacks to the mix.
-
Fire
Brings fiery damage to the front.

Don't combine every pair on sight. Leave space so the next match has somewhere to land.
-
Balance your damage
Pair a single-target Plant with a multi-target one. Crowds and heavy hitters need different answers.
